Brendan Rodgers is likely to become the first Premier League manager to leave their post this season after being cut from January 4 late on Sunday.
Leicester surrender to lose at home to Southampton on Saturday, leaving them with just one point from the third opening Premier League match and bogged down in the relegation zone.
The Foxes remain the only top club not to sign the player this summer, something Rodgers has publicly stated he disagrees with.
Meanwhile, centre-back Wesley Fofana has not played against Southampton amid speculation that he will join Chelsea.

Rodgers is marked as a man worth watching in Open the column race cover of the season after the first weekend of the game when the Northern Ireland international quickly shortened to 15/2 in third place favorites after Leicester took a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Brentford.
That result comes just 48 hours after he voiced displeasure over the club’s lack of transfer activity – terse comments saw him cut it short to 4/1 favorites.
The Foxes face Chelsea, Manchester United, Brighton, Aston Villa and Tottenham in the coming weeks, adding further impetus to the view that Rodgers’ position is in jeopardy.
