Video of Haaland on the training ground
Real Madrid and Florentino Perez know what they want to do in the summer of 2022. The club want to sign both Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to once again turn the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu into the glitz of European football.
Real buying Mbappe is understandable in the context of the striker born in 1998 about to leave PSG on a free transfer. With Haaland, Los Blancos must pay Dortmund a contract release fee of 75 million euros. That number is enough for the Royal team to focus on adding personnel for other positions.
So do Real really need Haaland in case they already own Mbappe? Would it be more reasonable if Real spent money to strengthen the defense and midfield?
This is a question that creates a great deal of controversy when Marca’s journalists all have their own arguments. In which, Juan Ignacio Garcia-Ochoa, Alberto Rubio and Santiago Siguero are flying writers in support of Real buying Haaland. Only Miguel Angel Lara expects the Bernabeu to receive more personnel in the midfield and defenders.
This shows that not only do people like the flashy like Florentino Perez, most also want Real to own a high-class striker with great commercial value like Haaland. Acquiring Haaland is a deal that brings Los Blancos many attractive factors. And that has always been the thinking of Real, a club that not only needs professional value but also likes players who exude image value.
That is why they are ready to recruit Mbappe and Haaland at the same time even though they know both will consume a lot of money. But Real also needs to be very careful about Haaland’s case because this is the season the Norwegian striker has been constantly injured.
Trying to go after Haaland to create a home for a host of elite stars in the world of football is likely to make Real vulnerable. Casemiro – Kroos – Modric needs to be replaced. Although Real already has Valverde, Camavinga, they also need more promising faces like Monaco’s Tchouameni.
In defense, the right-back position is an area that needs to be sewn because Dani Carvajal is showing signs of age and Lucas Vazquez is only a temporary solution. That is not to mention that Real only has 3 good names in the role of central defender, Alaba, Militao and Nacho, the number is too small for the area to need 2 options.
It will not be bad if Real really successfully buys Haaland, which is the closing deal that makes Europe admire. Real sometimes needs such respect.
But in case Real ignores Haaland to add strength in the two lower lines, it is also a wise choice. That move did not create a big hit right away, but in the long run, it served Los Blancos’ title journey.
